Biography

Zoe Schoenherr is an award-winning multi-disciplinary artist and people and place researcher. Schoenherr obtained a Master in Fine Art from Slade School of Fine Art, UCL, 2012, after being nominated and selected for a fully funded scholarship. Since graduating from her MFA, Schoenherr's practice has received nominations and awards for prestigious prizes. 

In 2019, Schoenherr furthered the research that underpins her practice by obtaining an MSc in Environmental Psychology from the University of Surrey.  She has participated in national and international residencies, including QatarUK, Qatar and 18th Street Arts Centre, Los Angeles. She has won funding from Art Humanities Research Council and British Council, Leverhulme Trust.

Schoenherr’s work on dance won a prestigious residency with UCL Civil Engineering where her work started to interrogate architecture as a catalyst for behaviour and well-being. She won funding from The Leverhulme Trust and was nominated by Tim Marlow, the Artistic Director from the Royal Academy, for the Mark Tanner Prize. Recently her joint proposal for a choreographic public artwork was shortlisted for the First Plinth.

Schoenherr's practice continues to develop through research on performance, embodiment and the lived experience narrative between people and place. Outside of her practice Schoenherr currently works as an Associate Lecturer at the London College of Fashion.
